Laois midfielder Kevin Meaney has made a U-turn on his decision to retire from inter-county football.

The former county captain brought the curtain down on an 11-year involvement with the Laois senior set-up last January. However, he has been named at number 8 in John Sugrue's starting 15 to face Wexford in the O'Byrne Cup at Enniscorthy (switched from New Ross) tomorrow (throw-in 2pm).

Sugrue has made a total of twelve changes from last weekend's 3-11 to 0-6 hammering at the hands of Meath with a first senior start going to Evan Lowry at corner-forward.

Laois (O'Byrne Cup v Wexford): Eoin Keogh; Ruaidhri C Fennell, Denis Booth, James Kelly; Paddy O’Sullivan, Colm Begley, Finbarr Crowley; Kevin Meaney, Rory Bracken; Daniel O’Reilly, Eoin Lowry, Martin Scully; Evan Lowry, Colm Murphy, Evan O’Carroll.
