Liam Silke won't be linking up with the Galway football squad after helping Corofin to their second All-Ireland club SFC title in three years last weekend.

According to the Irish Independent, the defender has made plans to spend the summer in the US. Silke scored a crucial late goal in Corofin's All-Ireland semi-final win over Moorefield last month and has been a regular starter for the county side in recent seasons.

Galway manager Kevin Walsh can expect a number of Corofin's All-Ireland winners to become available over the next few weeks, with Ian Burke, Dylan Wall, Cathal Silke, Martin and Michael Farragher and Michael Lundy among those expected to return to the fold.
