Davy Burke is expected to be installed as Wicklow's new football manager this week.

The Irish Independent is reporting that the Confey clubman, who led Kildare to an All-Ireland U20FC title last year, will be ratified as John Evans' successor at a county board meeting tomorrow night. At 31, he will be the youngest inter-county manager in the country.

Currently in charge of Newbridge outfit Sarsfields, Burke was one of those linked with the recent vacancy in his native county before it was filled by former Kerry All-Ireland winning manager Jack O'Connor.
