TG4 All-Ireland winners Neamh Woods and Carla Rowe have collected The Croke Park Player of the Month awards for August and September respectively.

Woods would captain Tyrone to TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate success in September and the experienced and versatile star played a key role in ensuring that the Red Hands made it to the Croke Park decider against Meath.

Rowe, meanwhile, was Player of the Match in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Final as Dublin claimed back-to-back titles, scoring two brilliant goals against Cork in front of a record 50,141 attendance.

Drumragh dynamo Woods (29) bagged two points in the dramatic All-Ireland semi-final victory over Sligo in August, having contributed a point in the quarter-final win against Wexford earlier in the month.

2008 TG4 All Star Woods is a survivor from the 2010 TG4 All-Ireland Senior Final loss to Dublin while she also played in the 2017 All-Ireland Intermediate Final defeat at the hands of Tipperary.

But Gerry Moane’s Tyrone made amends in 2018 and Woods lifted the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup as the Ulster county regained Senior Championship status for next year.

This year, Woods also had the honour of leading Tyrone to a third successive TG4 Ulster Intermediate title, while she was also a member of the Northern Ireland netball squad that competed in the Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast.

She was also named as Player of the Match from the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Final.

For Rowe and Dublin, it was another memorable campaign as the Sky Blues retained the Brendan Martin Cup.

Rowe (23), from the Clann Mhuire club, earned the prestigious Player of the Match award from the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Final.

She scored a goal in either half as Dublin finally managed to get the better of Cork in an All-Ireland Senior Final.

Rowe is no stranger to winning All-Ireland medals as she captured minor glory in 2012, along with U21 successes in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

She is also the proud holder of two TG4 All Star awards from 2015 and 2016 – and is nominated again in 2018.

During the knock-out stages of the 2018 TG4 Senior Championship, Rowe scored a point in the All-Ireland semi-final victory over Galway, having contributed 0-2 in the quarter-final win against Kerry.
