Mayo's Cian Hanley

Former AFL player Cian Hanley has joined the Mayo football squad ahead of tomorrow night's Allianz Football League clash with Dublin.

The 2013 All-Ireland minor winner returned home after a four-year spell in Australia with the Brisbane Lions earlier this month, and has been present at Mayo training this week according to the Irish Times. A younger brother of Pearce, Hanley's progress in the AFL was hampered by injury, but his return to Ireland is a major boost to both Mayo and his club Ballaghadereen.

He was an exciting forward during his minor days and could bring additional firepower to the Mayo attack in their latest quest to land the Sam Maguire. Hanley isn't expected to feature in tomorrow's re-run of the last two All-Ireland finals at Elvery's MacHale Park.
