Following on from meetings on Thursday and recommendations from the GAA’s Covid-19 Advisory Group, it is now likely that the resumption of all GAA activities will happen before July 20.
All GAA activities were suspended until that date but if the Government and Health Authorities move the country to Phase 2 of the easing of restrictions, Croke Park will signal its intention to return earlier than the date of July 20.
Sources indicate that club games could return in August with intercounty action not until October.
Pitches may be allowed to open on June 29 with clubs to phase in training starting with non-contact before full training is allowed.
Counties would run club championships in July, August and September.
It is expected that similar to protocols already published for rugby and soccer, clubs and counties will have to appoint Covid Officers and individuals to oversee all training to ensure safety measures are fully followed.
