Laois receive Croker 'punishment'

The Laois team huddle ahead of the Division 4 final against Carlow at Croke Park

Laois’ NFL 3 clash against Louth will be played at Croke Park on February 3rd as the O’Moore County are ‘punished’ for failing to comply with training guidelines last April.

John Sugrue’s charges were due to play Louth in O’Moore Park, but instead they will head to Croker where the match will be the first of a triple header including the Dublin ladies and men’s teams.

Laois were one of a number of counties that have been punished for breaking the rules during the ‘club-only’ month of April.

However, whether a trip to Croke Park can be seen as a punishment could be argued with as they played twice there last year in the NFL Division Four and Leinster finals.

The O’Moore County begin their campaign with a away clash against Down at Newry on Saturday, January 26th.
