Fermanagh manager Rory Gallagher believes that some of his players could be reading too much into the hype surrounding their push for promotion to NFL 1.

Much has been made of Fermanagh’s NFL 2 campaign to date which sees them sit second on the table with one round of games to go.

However, they came unstuck last weekend when Armagh ran out comfortable winners in Crossmaglen, which puts a bit of a damper on their campaign so far.

Speaking to the Fermanagh Herald, Gallagher states that coming from a small county like theirs, it is easy to get swallowed up in all the hype.

“Technically, it is still in our own hands. There is still a lot to play for. We have got to lick our wounds. We have a big test this week,” said Gallagher.

“Maybe sometimes when you get too many pats on the back in a small county it seeps in. There was a softness to the way we played.”
