Have to agree with Doireboy, time for an outsider, His analysis of managers is also correct. I also feel we don't have the players at the minute nor the past while and it will take another couple of years before our best players who are now 22 and below mature. Cassidy was easily the most astute tactically of them all. I was in Owenbeg recently at a coaching event and he used the term that our players come with 'conditions' to explain his disillusionment with to many Derry players, by that he meant players will go and see how it goes, and if it doesn't go the way they want i.e. get on the team without fighting for a place or the ball being put where I want it or I shouldn't have to do that for the team, I'll jump ship rather than dig in and see the season through. A lot to be said about that insight as that mentality still is alive and well this year, considering the amount of players who left the panel. However you can't condone the how poorly organised we were on Sunday, that is not the players fault exclusively, the fact there has been no progression defensively from the league shows there is no understanding of the modern game or how to implement a defensive structure from the management.
