“Today we were delighted just to see some of the stuff we’ve been working on in training produced on the pitch. That’s all credit to the boys.”

Clare’s tackling let them down against the Rebels according to joint-manager Donal Moloney.

“I thought we hurled well enough to get something out of the game. It didn’t happen.”

Liam Sheedy and Tipp left Innovate Wexford Park empty-handed.

“Winning games like this at Wexford Park is very important for us. We had a very big crowd today and a lot of young people there. The more big games we win the better, and confidence-wise for our lads.”

Winning is a habit that Model County boss Davy Fitzgerald wants his team to develop.

“No disrespect to Carlow, that was a game where we felt we missed a lot of chances early on. You are always looking for a response from the players. We got that and a bit today.”

Micheal Donoghue’s Galway returned to winning ways at Dublin’s expense.

“A lot of these guys have played an awful lot of Fitzgibbon games. We talked about it a few weeks ago, the load that is on them. I’m not making any excuses, but Galway looked that bit sharper. They were more top-of-the-ground and we looked leggy all across the field.”

Dublin weren’t firing on all cylinders against the Tribesmen and Mattie Kenny highlighted the hectic schedule that some of his players have faced in recent weeks.

“There’s a question to be asked, the players have to ask themselves about their commitment tonight and whether they gave everything or not. They’ll have to digest it over the weekend.”

Kevin Martin didn’t hide his disappointment with his Offaly players following their defeat to Laois on Saturday night.

“The lads were well-tuned in for this and they performed as well as I can ask of them.”

Martin’s O’Moore County counterpart Eddie Brennan had no such complaints.

“It’s great that it’s going to happen. It’s going to be exciting times. We see others with their stadiums and we all know that we’ve a bit of work to do on that.”

Waterford manager Paraic Fanning is looking forward to the redevelopment of Walsh Park.

“We’re hugely disappointed that we ended up with 13 players. It’s not acceptable really. It’s something that we have to work on.”

Carlow’s lack of discipline is a cause of concern for Colm Bonnar.

“It’s a nice achievement to have reached back-to-back finals but we don’t look on it like that. We are just focused on winning.”

 Kevin O’Brien and Corofin will be up against Dr Crokes at Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.

“Corofin were playing in their ninth semi-final. We were still on a learning curve. We are proud of where we have come from in the last two years.”

Gaoth Dobhair manager Mervyn O’Donnell highlighted the progress that the club has made in the past 24 months.

“Johnny Buckley and his man were pushing each other and your man just went down and the referee probably sent him off for a striking offence, there was no striking offence as far as we are concerned.”

It’s likely that Dr Crokes will appeal the red card shown to Johnny Buckley, according to selector Niall O’Callaghan.

“I guess they wanted a performance, they wanted a win. But I think they were happy that we stayed going. We want to thank them for the support they’ve given us.”

Mullinalaghta captain Shane Mulligan and his team-mates gave the club’s supporters plenty to cheer about en route to the last four of the All-Ireland Club SFC.
