'There were disgraceful performances all over the pitch'

Galway stand for the National Anthem before the start of the All Ireland SHC final against Limerick

Michael 'Babs' Keating has put the boot into Galway following their All-Ireland SHC final defeat to Limerick.

In his Irish Sun column, the outspoken Tipperary legend criticised the Tribesmen's decision-making and also the performances of both the management and players.

"Some of the Galway decision-making was as bad as I've seen." he opined.

"James Skehill was poor from his puck-outs, and the backs opted for a lot of silly short passing which put them under pressure. Tough chats need to be had with Adrian Tuohy and John Hanbury, while Daithí Burke looked like a very ordinary player.

"In terms of all that, I would have to ask questions of Micheál Donoghue because his team failed badly. There were disgraceful performances all over the pitch. Pádraic Mannion was in contention for Hurler of the Year and some of his decisions were awful... those Galway players wasted so many chances and when they realise the mistakes they made, they will kick themselves."
