It looks like Paul Kerrigan could be set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

The long-serving Cork attacker has been unavailable to Rebels manager Ronan McCarthy so far in the national football league as he was part of the Nemo Rangers side that contested the All-Ireland Club SFC final against Corofin on St Patricks Day.

Kerrigan represented the Munster kingpins in Monday's national club decider, despite sustaining a finger injury during the dramatic semi-final victory over Derry and Ulster champions Slaughtneil, but The Irish Examiner is reporting that - as he recuperates from the injury - he will remain unavailable to the relegation-threatened Leesiders not just for the concluding round of the league on Sunday but also for the opening stages of the championship.
