Can anyone explain to me how Cavan Gaels intermediate team are not in the relegation play-offs. They won no matches and there is only three teams in the playoffs Butlersbridge, swadlibar and Kill. Why not four and have a proper play-off. Swad even won a match during the year. Reading the comments above others posters reckon they were very poor and not up to the standard.

maybe they decided not to contest them. they will probably play junior next year.

the gaels almost won junior final some year back, the junior clubs kicked up and make a rule the gaels play in intermediate championship. therfore the gales can't get relegated

Do they have the same rule about the Senior Team. Or would they play two teams in the intermediate!!. I heard that some of the teams in the relegation play off are not to happy about this.

Senior final 12th of October?? Well there ain't a chance of that happening if we still on a provisional for the quarter. At the latest got to be the 19th to allow the winners 2 weeks before ulster club on 2nd November . So really quarter must go ahead soon to allow semi on 5th and final on 19th. But any things possible with our CB. It could be Christmas!!!

Killian Clarke gone for Shercock is a massive loss. Broken or fractured ankle

I hear the intermediate final is fixed for a saturday evening. Bit unfair for the teams involved.
What happened Killian Clarke?

I'm hearing different rumours about Killian Clarke but he seems to be definitely out for the rest of the season. That's tough on Shercock, they had a great chance of winning it this year. Not good news for Cavan either.

That's the first I heard about Killian Clarke, although I was the the game and he was playing alright. Was very impressed with the way both Ballyhaise and Cootehill won, Cootehill with 14 men before half time. They never seemed in trouble really and was really impressed with them. Have a few new young faces in who played very well for them.

Has the potential to be a great final if the top players perform, called Cootehill to win it out before the Championship began and no reason to suggest otherwise now, fancy them to shade it by a few points as long as they can keep Tierney as quiet as possible. He's as good as anyone in the county when he's playing well, fantastic footballer!

Apologies when I said broken ankle, I meant foot and is fractured or a stress fracture. He was in a cast/protective boot all week and played through pain today. I think this was evident as he was not taking frees at the start but fair play to him for playing.

I don't understand it, why not play the Junior Final at 2pm Sunday and then the Intermediate Final at 4 or half 4 after it. They decide to put the Senior Semi-Final on Sunday instead, baffles me. And there's a Minor "C" Final on before the Intermediate Final on Saturday night, surely would of made sense to play the Senior Semi-Final Saturday eve along with that Minor Final. Anyway, nothing anyone can do!
