Cavan v Roscommon

With both sides meeting on the 26th in the Division3 final, they might not show the full hand this weekend. Whats the story with Givney leaving the panel?

Any word on injuries for saturday night? I wonder will it be a game for the fringe players and rest the likes of mackey, martin reilly, mcenroe or will Terry play his strongest 15 for the last 2 games? With Givney and Declan McK gone from the the panel now and Argue still with the 21's these games are a great chance for the likes of Mooney and Mossy Corr to cement a place alongside Gearoid for the Armagh game and beyound hopefully.

Ashame about Givney, good player.
Any chance he might return?

Thats a disaster about Givney !! A top class player. Railway Cup winner. And Declan Mc Kiernan as well. Hope things arent falling apart just when we have glory in our sights. It really casts a bit of gloom over the whole county.
Wonder what the reasons are??

The panel is very strong this year, so if they were to rest a few lads this weekend the lads coming in will do as a good a job. Cavan don't play Armagh until June 8th ,its a longer wait then last year when Cavan played Armagh on May 19th, as that was a prelimainary round game,. Cavan will be going full tilt to win the league final against Roscommon on 26th of April a good confidence boost ahead of the championship, and there is plenty of time to concentrate on Armagh after that game.

No chance at all, categorically not, not under the current management set up anyway I'm led to believe, and I imagine terry and co will be in charge for a good few years yet.

It explains the poor performances in the Sligo and Longford games. Its a big loss but they gave the Management very little choice. If we have learned anything in the last few years is that everybody is replaceable. It must be very hard on the players as well as the setup. Big Big game against Roscommon to focus the lads and with good under 21 and minor momentum as well the bandwagon will roll on. There is the opportunity for places now and lads will be busting a gut to nail down regular spots on the run up to Croker and USFC dates.

It must have been pretty serious to drop a key player, but if there is poor discipline it has to be dealt with. No player is bigger then the team

I am outraged by the gossip on this thread. Have you nothing better to do than spread malicious rumours about players who have served our county well. I wonder how many of you stand out on a wet evening at the side of a pitch???

Agree entirely with Gaelsman. Disgraceful spreading malicious rumours that are not true. And I know that these rumours are all LIES !!!!

Givney should be back in a week or two when he gets over his injury. He has been a great servent to Cavan football since his mid teens and it will be great to see him back in full force.

I think a change of subject is called for here, not fair speculating on our players,, will Roscommon field there full squad against us on Sunday or will they not be interested in winning this one ?

Had heard these rumours myself but was chatting to a panel member tonight and confirmed both were training this evening and over the wend. Good news for us, seems the rumour mill was again to blame..hopefully both are available the next day against Roscommon.

Right so we will park it until after the rossie match. A third match with givney or mckiernan no on the programme nor sitting with the injured players.
