Who is going to fill eight place Looks like Shercock and Ballinagh are doomed
so who are the other two not going to make it. Still lots to play for.
Looks like Castlerahan Lacken Crosserlough Gowna Kingscourt are in the top eight now who get the three others. Will Lacken try at least to take a point from the gaels if not both if that happens the gaels are gone so it would be just one place up for grabs ???

Castlerahan 3 2 1 0 57 47 10 5
Lacken 3 2 1 0 42 36 6 5
Crosserlough 3 2 0 1 66 48 18 4
Gowna 3 1 2 0 45 37 8 4
Kingscourt St 3 2 0 1 46 39 7 4
Lavey 3 1 1 1 51 47 4 3
Ramor U 3 1 1 1 53 54 -1 3
Killygarry 3 1 1 1 48 50 -2 3
Cavan Gaels 3 0 2 1 48 49 -1 2
Cootehill 3 1 0 2 33 41 -8 2

Sad to see Killygarry livewire Conor Smith suffer a serious injury in Virginia earlier, hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Shane Tierney and Gerry Smith both looked county standard.

Will Lacken beat Cavan Gaels next weekend. I notice the forum is very quiet about the situation teams are finding them selfs in regarding the top eight and the possibility of being relegated to Intermediate by the bottom 4.

Sad to hear that. Was expecting him to break into the Cavan team next year if he wanted to.

What did he do? Leg break was it?

Big blow to Killygarry's chances too. If not the end of them..

Gaels don't seem to be playing that well at the moment . 2 points from 3 games lost 1 by a point and drew 2. Could have 6 points but also could have 0 points. Very fine margins here.
A decent win they might sneak 8th place which would put them against Castlerahan in the quarters.
All depends on how other games go.
If a team can't get 4/5 points out of 4 games well they don't deserve to be in the quarters.
But if the Gaels get to the quarters it might just kickstart their championship

I am enjoying the current Club Championship format . There was great excitement in the Junior already with the last place going down to the last kick of a ball. The last round in Senior / Intermediate this coming weekend has fixtures that will have most clubs with something to play for and the fans with their calculators at the ready to figure out the Quarter Final placings. So congrats to the CCC and the reps that voted this system in.

I agree I think it's a good format. And there will be plenty of interest in the last round of the Senior Championship especially with all the games having the same time throw ins.
Hats off to the CB with this format.

In both senior & intermediate it's all to play for next weekend with only two teams out of 26 unable to qualify for the last 8 in both competitions. In the senior Shercock currently in 11th place on 1 point, if they beat Lavey on 3 , Killygarry win, Ramor win/draw & the Gaels lose, then Shercock would finish in 8th position equal on points with Lavey but ahead on head to head. Likewise in intermediate Cornafean currently in 13th position could move up to 8th with a win and other results going their way, that is Ballymachugh,Drumgoon & Killeshandra/Redhills all losing and Ballyhaise getting a bad beating from Cuchulains, which could overturn their scoring differences, and leave Cornafean in 8th position. Every point scored/conceded could be crucial in where teams finish come Sunday evening. I agree that this system lends itself to the excitement of the various championships, also what should be taken on board is the atmosphere in the club grounds for these games ,far better than playing in front of a couple of hundred scattered around Breffni Park, hope they continue this trend into the future.

I hope next year we continue to play these games at various club grounds even when the Park is playable again.
No atmosphere playing in front of a hundred or 2 in Breffni as another poster has already said.
Hope the CB realise that now.
Play your semis as a Double header there .

I still think the Gaels will have a last minute bust to get into the Q Finals. I think Killygarry wont have enough firepower to beat Cootehill. I think Gowna could pull it off against Ramor, Lavey to beat Shercock the Gaels get can pull it off against Lacken to get into the Q Finals, once the Gaels get their foot in the door, the great pretenders Castlerahan will start looking over their shoulders thinking here we go again.....

Here's my prediction for the weekend

Kilygarry vs Cootehill- Young Smith is a huge loss and probably the form forward of the c'ship. Cootehill only managed 4 points against Lacken and although they are a tough team I think Kilygarry will get the result here. Kilygarry by 2

Gowna vs Ramor- This could be a really big game for Ramor. Gowna have showed they can turn up on the big day and I think they could well put it up to a good Ramor team. Draw

Kingscourt vs Crosserlough- Two teams that have had a mixed campaign so far but I think Crosserlough's youth will be too much for an ageing Kingscourt team. Crosserlough by 3

Lacken vs Cavan Gaels- All eyes will be on Lacken to see if they can knock the champions out. Although Lacken are already into the quarters they will relish this chance but I can't see the Gaels giving up their crown that easily. Gaels by 1

Shercock vs Lavey- Can't see anything but a Lavey win here. They have a few quality players when they get going which should be too much for Shercock. Lavey by 5

Castlerahan vs Ballinagh- Castlerahan will want to show flex their muscles here and show what firepower they have and I think Ballinagh could be at the wrong end of a bad beating here. Castlerahan by 8

A win could still see Gaels exit. Have a negative score difference.

It would be fair to say if they win next weekend they will win it out.

Could win by a point and their score difference is neither negative or positive. All the teams they are hoping to catch have a positive score difference so Gaele might need to win by a big scoreline or hope other results save them.

Yes looking at the table I feel if they win they will qualify. They will have a tough game for I am sure if Lacken don't want to play them top V 8th I feel they will draw or beat them it's the safest way.
Should the gales win they will win the championship remember Kingscourt??
