Fermanagh defender Kevin McDonnell believes home advantage will be of no use unless they bring their ‘A’ game to Saturday's clash against Cavan at Brewster Park.

The Erne County go into the match on the back of a defeat to Westmeath, while Cavan have had two wins on the spin, meaning that Mickey Graham’s charges go into this game full of confidence.

Speaking to the Fermanagh Herald, McDonnell stated that it is a must win game for the home side who could be facing into a relegation battle should they get nothing from it.

“Cavan are a good team and they’ll be hungry for the win. They might be missing a few from last year, but they still have a strong squad, they were Ulster finalists last year and have a lot of good forwards,” said McDonnell.

“In their game against Westmeath, they produced a brilliant second half comeback and won by four points. They’ll be very confident and they’ll be targeting this game as well.

“It’s a derby game and we’ll have to raise our game from the last day. If we were to lose we would be in a tough relegation fight, but if we win it will give us a bit of confidence to kick on again. You don’t want to be going into play Armagh with just two points.”
