The GAA is expected to reveal the identity of its new Director-General soon.

And according to the Irish Sun, it's now a three-horse race between former Tipperary All-Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy, GAA Director of Finance Tom Ryan and Ken Spratt, a leading civil servant who has served in six government departments and has worked as a diplomat at the Irish Embassy in Washington.

Spratt, who captained Finglas club Erin's Isle to an All-Ireland club SFC final appearance in 1998, is viewed as the dark horse for the post.

Other reports suggest that former Armagh captain Jarlath Burns and the GAA's current Director of Communications Alan Milton are also in the running to succeed Paraic Duffy.
