Reck in no doubt Cats are favourites

Wexford and Kilkenny meet in the Leinster U20 hurling championship final.

Wexford U20 manager MJ Reck believes that his charges go into tonight’s (Wednesday) Leinster hurling final as massive underdogs against Kilkenny.

The Model County have already secured provincial titles at minor and senior level, beating Kilkenny in both deciders.

But, this is arguably their toughest task as DJ Carey’s young guns have been in excellent form, beating favourites Galway in the semi-final.

“We realise the task ahead of us. There’s no doubt it’s a serious challenge as I’ve seen in Kilkenny. They are an excellent side and odds on with the bookies to win,” Reck told the Wexford People.

“Having said that, we will give it our best shot, of that there’s no doubt. We will approach the game with a positive attitude, so on the evening one never knows.

“We had a tough game against Offaly, and came through it, when no one gave us a chance. We will take that and look ahead to Kilkenny. We will give it one good lash.”
