Diarmuid Connolly is in line to make his 2018 competitive bow against Mayo this weekend.

The Herald reports that the St Vincent's ace could see action as the Sky Blues aim to continue their winning ways.

After captaining St Vincent's to Dublin SFC success last year, Connolly rejoined the squad later than usual this year as he was nursing a couple of injuries in the off season.

On a individual level, he endured a frustrating 2017 after being forced to sit on the sidelines for most of it due to suspension but he did make a telling impact off the bench in the All-Ireland final win over this Saturday's opponents.

Paul Flynn and Cormac Costello are other options now also available to manager Jim Gavin and his selectors when they sit down to decide their starting 15.
