Longford are celebrating a first Leinster SFC victory over Meath in 36 years after they prevailed by two points in fortress Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
On what has been a memorable day for the underdog in Leinster, Denis Connerton's men ended a nine-year wait for a first round championship win to set up a glamour provincial semi-final against All-Ireland champions Dublin at Croke Park in two weeks' time.

Meath and Kildare need to have a long hard look at themselves. Delighted for Longford and Carlow but two of the biggest populations in the country and can't even make a provincial semi final between them.

TweetStrange atmosphere in Longford when final whistle went. All through the game in fact. Nearly 6000 present but not much noise .... left very cold I thought by what they were watching I think
