Cathal Freeman is well known as a Mayo hurler and he is looking to run 42km in his back garden while soloing a ball to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and also to buy PPE for HSE staff.
Freeman, a talented footballer as well, is a medical student.
“I'm a Mayo hurler and medical student who has very little to be doing with his time at the moment,” explained Freeman.

“I'm attempting to do a marathon on a patch of grass while soloing a ball. I'm looking to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and the HSE.”

If this tweet gets 2,000 retweets - I'll run a marathon (42km) while soloing a sliothar around this patch of grass.
I'll set up a fundraising page before doing it - all money raised will go to @IrishCancerSoc and @HSELive for PPE 👍 pic.twitter.com/9GZLeCVUnQ
