O'Shea, Fr. Con

February 21, 2008
Clyda Rovers GAA Club would like to pass on our smypathies to the family of Fr Con O'Shea who passed away. Father Con was a curate in Mourneabbey in the 1960s and he was one of the men that started Clyda on the road to where we are as a club today. He reformed the juvenile club with a number of other people in the parish and he also coached the 1967 North Cork-winning novice team. Clyda became Junior on back of that win and have never looked back. The club owes him a debt of gratitude for all the work he did when he was serving the parish of Mourneabbey. Even when he left the parish Father Con always kept a keen interest on the progress of the Clyda club. He will always be remembered as one of the main men who laid the foundations for Clyda Rovers for what transpired to be its most glorious period ever.
