Creamer, Ned

Ned Creamer & Mary Jo Kirby A vital link of the very successful Grange teams of the fifties and sixties passed to his eternal reward recently. The player in question was that outstanding footballer, Ned Creamer, a great midfielder where his high fielding and lengthy kicking were a feature of his game. He won several North Cork medals and was corner back on the 1966 team which were defeated by Dohenys after a replay in the County senior football final. He also donned the Avondhu jersey with distinction. Ned was also a very accomplished bowl player in that era and could beat the best pitted against him. Another link from that era and up to recently, also passed to her eternal reward was Mary Jo Kirby mother of PJ, Ned and Seamie who all gave great service to their club, division and county. She was a great supporter of our teams down the years and rarely missed a match even though in ill health in the last few years she set an example to us all with her tremendous battling qualities and will to live. On behalf of the club we extend our deepest sympathies to Ned and Mary Jo's families, relatives and large circle of friends. The sympathy of the club is also extended to the following families; the Dorgan family, Duntahane, Fermoy and the Shinnick family Cregg, Fermoy. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanamacha dilis.
