Regretfully in the recent past a very respected member of Newcestown GAA Club passed away after a long term illness. Ger Long was heavily involved with Newcestown GAA Club both as a selector and player at both underage and adult level. He is survived by his wife Eilish, his two sons David and Kevin and four Daughters Cliodhna, Karen , Collen an Allanah, His two brothers Brian and John Joe and his two sisters Maureen and Evelyn, also his brother-in law and Newcestown PP, Fr, Finbarr Crowley. All of his were involved with Newcestown GAA at one time or another, Kevin is still involved with both teams at premier intermediate level and Colleen and Allanah are involved in the camogie club.
