Russell Rovers (Cork) 2-13

St Mary’s (Waterford) 0-11

Josh Beausang scored 1-8 as Cork's Russell Rovers trumped St Mary's of Waterford in the Munster club JHC final in Dungarvan.

Switched from Mallow to Fraher Field due to Storm Atiyah, this decider was closer than the scoreline suggests with the outcome remaining in the balance until eight minutes from the end when Brian Hartnett's goal sealed Rovers' victory.

Dan Shanahan's St Mary's side had wind advantage in the first half, but were dealt an early blow when Hartnett set up Beausang for the opening goal inside 60 seconds. The winners remained three points clear before St Mary's finished the half with unanswered points from free-taker Eoin Kearns, who posted 0-7 in total, and wing back Dermot Tobin to go into the break on level terms, 0-7 to 1-4.

But with Beausang unerring from placed balls, Rovers had regained a three-point advantage before Hartnett's late major settled it.
