Cork hope to have captain Seamus Harnedy available for the first round of the Munster SHC against Tipperary after lodging an appeal against his one-match suspension.

Harnedy was expected to serve the ban, which arose from his sending off against Tipperary in Pairc Ui Rinn a fortnight ago, against Kilkenny in last Saturday's dead-rubber clash with Kilkenny in Nowlan Park, but the CCCC deemed that it wasn't an official Allianz League game, rather a game to determine the groups the teams would play in in next year's restructured league.

Kilkenny are also expected to appeal Conor Delaney's one-match ban after he too wasn't able to serve it last weekend.
