The Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch was a hot topic of discussion at last night’s Cork GAA monthly meeting.

Chairperson Tracey Kennedy assured those present that whatever action was necessary to solve the fundamental structural issues with the pitch would be taken.

She also indicated that it was likely that remaining National League games would be played at Páirc Uí Rinn to ensure that the Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch was ready for Championship.

Meanwhile, recently retired Cork star Colm O’Neill was unveiled as an U-20 football selector for the coming year.

The 2010 All-Ireland SFC medalist joins manager Keith Ricken’s backroom team along with Maurice Moore (Carbery Rangers) and Pat Spratt (Buttervent) with one more selector to be announced.

Kennedy also reported that she had had discussions with senior football manager Ronan McCarthy on the matter of replacing selectors who had departed and hoped to have an update for the next meeting.
