2013 Epic Replayed Final

(Oldest Posts First)

I watched the highlights of this game in TG 4. I attended it and thought it was a brilliant game. However it was only when I saw the highlights last evening that I fully realised what an epic it really was. Shane O'Donnell's goals were brilliant but Connor McGrath's was really something else. Hard to imagine this team has not done more since. Many thought they were the new KK that day.

It was a brilliant game no doubt Cork allowed us the space to express ourselves from there on many teams had copped on to the sweeper system.

We had small lovely hurlers at that time but some obsession with the short game sweepers and not trying to develope the taller hurlers we had perhaps cost us. Pat Donnellan and Bugs were never as good again also.

Cant feel but that there was another all ireland in that panel but many retired early enough.

id say there was about 2 more all irelands in that team over a 4 or 5 year period maybe more. Definitely a huge loss to clare hurling

It was a great All-Ireland to win. Those Cork lads would be grateful of it now!
