The late PJ St Lawerence PJ St Lawerence, Ogonnelloe, died at his home on Sunday, February 18th , 2007. Born in 1937, PJ was son of the late Eddie and Sissy St Lawerence. He emigrated to the UK in the 50s and was employed as a bus driver for a number of years. Here he met Scariff lady, Mary Minogue, and they eventually married and returned to Ogonnelloe where twenty-one years ago, PJ took over the running of the family farm. In more recent years PJ while continuing with farming was also a most popular school bus driver. A keen sportsman, he played hurling with the Ogonnelloe Club many years and of course he was a loyal 'Banner' supporter! PJ led a most active life and his illness was faced with courage, resignation and good humour. His passing leaves an immense void in the hearts and homes of his loved ones. Large crowd of sympathisers paid their last respects to PJ at Lynch's Funeral Home and St Mary's Church, Ogonnelloe. Requiem mass was concelebrated by Fr Hugh O'Dowd, Fr James Grace and Fr Pat Malone with burial in Ogonnelloe Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Eilis, Marie and Kathleen, his siblings Nancy and Sean and extended family, relatives and friends. Courtesy of the Clare Champion 02 March 2007
