The late Jimmy Corry The death has occurred of Jimmy Corry from Roslevan. Jimmy, a native of Tulla, came to the parish many years ago and was one of the pioneers in developing St Joseph's club. He was also instrumental in providing the club grounds in Roslevan. He was the selector to the St Josephs team that won the county senior hurling championship in 1958, along with fellow selectors Jimmy McNamara and Paddy Ryan. He was then the county selector for senior hurling for a number of years. Long before there were comfortable surrounds in clubhouses to hold meetings, Jimmy Corry's garage in Roslevan was the meeting place. For the past number of years, Jimmy was vice-president and trustee of St Joseph's club. His remains were removed from Daly's funeral home to the church of the Immaculate Conception in Barefield. Funeral mass was celebrated by Fr Michael McNamara PP, assisted on the altar by Canon Caimin O'Carroll. Burial took place to Templemaley cemetery. St Joseph's club provided a guard of honour on both days of the funeral. He is survived by his daughter MB Kean, sons Tony, JJ and Joseph, son in law bernard Keane, daughter in law Kathleen Corry, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, friends and relatives.
