The Late John Sheridan
The death has taken place of a former Clare senior footballer, John Sheridan.
John died suddenly at his home in Raheny, Dublin.
A brother of Clare GAA chairman, Michael Sheridan, John was involved with the club for twenty five years as a player.
He won Senior Football Championship medals in 1960 and 1964 and captained Offaly when they were beaten by Meath in the 1957 Leinster Minor Football Championship final.
He played junior hurling and football with Offaly in the 1960s and was an accomplished performer in both codes.
He worked as an accountant in Dublin Corporation before retiring a couple of years ago.
Michael Sheridan had to abandon a holiday in the USA when news of his brother's death emerged.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the Sheridan family on their sad loss.
