The GAAmbler: Derry hold all the aces

It's hard to believe that we are 10 weeks into the championship and we are now down to the final 12 teams left standing.

If you have been following this column and in particular our twitter account which can be accessed by clicking on this link https://twitter.com/TheGAAmbler1, you will be very aware of the success we have been bringing you punters, and last week was no different. We landed three players bets in the Ulster final including 6/5 and 5/6 prices. We also tipped Derry and Meath both teams to score a goal which came in at a massive 11/8, not forgetting Tyrone winning Ulster which we tipped at 11/4 before the competition.

Moving on to this week we preview the final round of qualifiers between Derry and Tipperary as well as the clash of Clare and Roscommon. Derry are a team which I believe I know very well, from the start of the year including the McKenna Cup and National League we have advised a number of bets in games they have been involved in and had some lovely winners, including three winners in three of their championship games. This week they play Tipperary who are a team that in my opinion couldn't be more suited to Derry. Both sides will be playing attacking football and looking at the stats which I highlighted in previous articles both these sides know how to hit the net and be involved in high scoring games. For example in the four games Derry have been involved in the average has been around 35 points and for Tipp's three games the score total has been 38 points. This is reflected in the bookies total points which is 35.5 points best priced at 5/6 with Bet 365. A 2.5 points (NAP) stake is being advised here. I simply think Derry will win the game and at the same time concede a decent score against the men from Munster with the Ulster venue offering considerable advantages for Damian Barton's men.

In today's other qualifier we are going with a similar bet to our first game, I am expecting another high scoring encounter between two teams which like Derry and Tipp have been involved in high scoring affairs throughout their league and championship campaigns. We are endorsing the over 35 points mark being offered by Boylesports at 4/5 with a 2 point stake being advised. Roscommon will be still hurting from their embarrassing defeat at the weekend, and the 6 day turnaround will do very little to help their midfield and defensive frailties, and although they undoubtedly possess more talent than Clare, they face a team who will have no fear of the Rossies. Expect two clinking games this Saturday between four teams who will be throwing all their weight behind one last throw of the dice.

Recommended bets:

Derry/Tipperary over 35.5 points at 5/6 with Bet 365. 2.5 points stake (NAP)

Roscommon/Clare over 35 points at 4/5 with Boyles. 2 points stake
