Boohan, Noel

January 25, 2013
The late Noel Boohan remembered.

The death took place recently, after a short illness, of Noel Boohan. A native of Annagh in the parish of Kilmurry-lbrickane, he had lived in Miltown Malbay for the past 42 years.

A keen GAA fan, he was a devoted Kilmurry-Ibrickane follower but also supported Miltown and members of both clubs joined forces to provide a guard of honour at his funeral.

He loved both hurling and football and was particularly proud to have seen Clare footballers win the Munster title at the expense of Kerry in 1992, before cheering the Clare hurlers to Munster and All-Ireland honours in 1995 and 1997.

The successes of the Clare minor and U-21 hurlers in recent years also brought much joy to 69-year-old Noel.

He travelled the county and the country to attend GAA games prior to his illness.
