June 17, 2011The unexpected death in South Carolina, US last week of Francy Killeen is much regretted in his native parish of Doonbeg.
A skillful footballer, his name became part of Doonbeg football lore, having played a major role in helping the Magpies win their first county senior title in 1955.
He was an avid supporter of Clare and Doonbeg and whether at home in Doonbeg or in the US, he followed the fortunes of Magpies teams with keen interest.
Memorial Mass for Fancy Killeen will be celebrated in Doonbeg Church this Saturday at 12 Noon.
