Larkin, Matt

The Late Matt Larkin The unexpected death of Matt Larkin has come as a great shock to his family and friends and the community in which he lived. Matt was proprietor of the landmark pub Larkins in Larkin's Cross, just outside Corbally. He was highly respected and entirely devoted to the GAA. Matt was one of the organisers of the re-union of the teams of the sixties held at Ray McMahon's last October. He was also an accomplished athlete and a member of Redgate Athletic Club in the sixties. Matt also kept detailed records. After every match, he recorded the team that played, scorers and substitutes on the day which later proved invaluable to those writing. Courtesy of The Clare Champion 8th May 2009
