Cooraclare was plunged into a state of shock this week at new of the sudden death of 19 year old Mark Donnellan from Clonhanbeg, Cree.

The Limerick Tutorial College Leaving Certificate student died suddenly in Limerick on Tuesday evening, while taking a shower.
Mark had been living with his sister in Limerick while studying.
A post mortem was due to be carried out in Limerick on Wednesday to ascertain the cause of death.

Mark, a son of Cyril and Margaret Donnellan was a prominent Cooraclare footballer, playing for both the junior and U-21 teams. Mark last played for Coolaclare in a junior league game against O'Callaghan's Mills on the May Bank Holiday Monday.
Cooraclare GAA Club chairman Gerry Kelly said that the parish was shocked by Mark's sudden death. "Our heart goes out to Cyril and Margaret, Thomas, who is on our senior team, and the rest of the family.

"Mark always had a smile on his face and he was a very popular young fella. His fellow players will be heartbroken," Gerry Kelly said.
The funeral arrangements for the young Cooralclare man were due to be announced on Thursday.
