Clare mourns death of Georgie Fitzpatrick

The death occurred on Friday of former Clare footballer and well-known media personality Georgie Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick enjoyed a fine playing career, winning county championships in Clare with St Senan's of Kilkee and also turning out for Dublin side Parnells. He later became the gaelic football analyst with Clare FM, during which time his voice became well-known to all Clare GAA followers. He was also involved in coaching with his adoptive Monaleen club, for whom his son Barry played before graduating to represent Limerick at senior level. Georgie Fitzpatrick passed away in Limerick at the age of 52. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.
