The evergreen Niall Gilligan came off the bench to help Sixmilebridge to a 0-18 to 0-15 victory over Inagh/Kilnamona in this evening's Clare SHC semi-final at Cusack Park.

The 2017 champions scored eight unanswered points in the second half to qualify for their fifth Canon Hamilton Cup decider of the decade where they will face the winners of tomorrow's second semi-final between Cratloe and Crusheen. It was Gilligan's first appearance of the championship in what is his 22nd successive season in the blue and gold.

Inagh/Kilnamona were leading by 0-13 to 0-9 before Tim Crowe's charges came roaring back with a succession of scores from Jamie Shanahan, Alex Morey, Shane Golden and Caimin Morey. Alex Morey finished as top-scorer with 0-9 to his credit.

Inagh/Kilnamona led by 0-7 to 0-6 at the interval and were in pole position to reach their first-ever final when points from David Fitzgerald, Aidan McCarthy and Evan McNamara propelled them into a four-point lead midway through the second half. But the 'Bridge, who have Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald in their management set-up, refused to panic and showed all their experience as they came back to win.
