Clare captain Patrick O’Connor is confident that the Banner’s forwards are going to trouble any defence in the country this year.

A win over Waterford last Sunday was built on the performance of a hard-working forward unit led by Shane O’Donnell and John Conlon.

And O’Connor told the Clare Champion that knowing they have such dangerous forwards gives them an advantage over their opponents.

“I take to the field every day knowing our inside forwards are red hot and are supremely talented and that if we supply them with enough quality ball that they will do damage,” said O’Connor.

“We are used to marking them in training and they improve us an awful lot.”
