Clare joint-manager Donal Moloney took his hat off to Galway following today's entertaining All-Ireland SHC semi-final in Semple Stadium.

The Banner County finished second best to the Tribesmen and, speaking to RTE's The Sunday Game shortly after the final whistle, Moloney said: "Very, very proud of our players.

"We acknowledge and recognise Galway, the great champions that they are. Many other teams would have buckled in that second-half but, unfortunately, Galway didn't."

Clare's shooting left a lot to be desired at times but Moloney didn't dwell on that aspect of their performance.

"Our shooting efficiency has been very good for a lot of games. Galway had a lot of wides as well.

"Over the season, when you look at it, our shot efficiency has been quite good so I wouldn't look upon that as a primary factor today.

"I thought it was just a fact that maybe Galway just hung in there when we came with the storm in the second-half."
