RTE will be keeping its fingers crossed that extra-time is not required to separate Galway and Clare in next Sunday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final replay.

The eagerly anticipated replay has been fixed for Semple Stadium and the 2pm throw-in time presents a major challenge for the national broadcaster as it is already scheduled to televise the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final phase 3 games - Donegal v Tyrone (Ballybofey) and Dublin v Roscommon (Croke Park).

Those two games are scheduled to get underway at 3.30pm.

The 2pm start for the second installment of Galway/Clare means that there is likely to be an overlap in RTE's coverage of the hurling and football games.

And, if the regulation 70 minutes fails to produce a winner between the Tribesmen and Banner County in Semple Stadium, then, one way or the other, some armchair supporters are going to be left disappointed.
