Limerick ace Shane Dowling says the Shannonsiders will be keen to build on their momentum when they visit Clare this Sunday in Ennis.

John Kiely's side currently sit top of the Munster SHC table on score difference three games in and will look to topple a Clare side which are just off the back of a rousing late win over Tipperary in Thurles.

A draw would be enough to see the Treaty men through to a first provincial final in four years but Dowling says the team will be going all out for their third win in the competition.

"We've an unbeaten record in Munster and we want to keep it that way as long as we can," the Na Piarsaigh man told The Irish Times. "Limerick won't be going out looking for a draw, that's for sure. Limerick will going down to Ennis, Clare in their own back yard, it might sound cliché, it's not going to be easy, but this team loves a challenge.

"And we're not looking at the four weeks as an excuse to get tired. We're looking at it as the chance to build momentum, and that's what we're trying to do.

"We're a young team, and the excuse is there if you want it to be, but we're certainly not going to have it there. Next Sunday, of course there will be a couple of tired bodies, sore bodies, but we've six days to recover, and from my own point of view, as I said, when you get the chance you have to take it. And anyone who gets the chance next week will have to take it as well."
