Clare captain Gary Brennan admits that the loss to Kerry in the Munster SFC semi-final was one of the worst he has experienced in an inter-county jersey, but stressed they must bounce back quickly.

The defeat to the Kingdom was a sobering experience for Clare, but in fairness to them not many teams in the country would have lived with Kerry last Sunday.

Brennan admitted to the Clare Champion that it won't be easy to get that defeat out of their system.

"It's a fairly chastening defeat. It's as bad as I have ever experienced. We are just going to have to reflect and go for the qualifiers again. That performance was a bit of a reality check," said Brennan.

"We have got a lot more work to do. We better knuckle down over the next few weeks and get ourselves in shape for the qualifiers."

He added: "This is going to hurt for a long time. Our job is to recover and take whatever learnings we can from this and get ourselves in better shape."
