Collins has mixed emotions

Clare manager Colm Collins is reasonably satisfied with their league campaign.

The Banner County rounded off their NFL 2 campaign with a comfortable win over Louth at Cusack Park, Ennis last Sunday. Since then, Collins has had time to reflect.

Looking back, he told the Clare Champion that if a number of small incidents had a different outcome then they could have been battling for promotion last weekend.

"When you reflect back over the league, there was a lot of little things that, if we had got right, we could have been at the other end of the table," stated Collins.

"Margins are tiny. The football leagues are very even, compared to the hurling leagues. If you can get your discipline right and not get the ball brought forward for arguing with the referee, it comes down to little things like that.

"I felt we could have even won the game against Roscommon but, overall, we're still in Division Two for next year, which is good."
