Time to turn our attention to Derry, what changes need to be made to ensure the 2 points stay in Cavan Saturday evening?

Midfield. Said it before but the 2 lads should not be started in there together.
Bring Killian Clarke out, give Brady responsibility at FB and bench Givney until HT. Bring him on 2nd half and move McKiernan to forwards then as things open up.

I keep asking what the story is with Rory Dunne. If he was back it would free K. Clarke into an area where he could use his pace and carrying ability.
We need to press the opposition on their kick-outs too and retain more possession from our own.

As far as im aware and this is only through word of mouth Rory will be out for most of the league. Kick out are going to be a big issue think a change of keeper is needed feel Ray panics a bit under any pressure he is a good forward with the club but not a talented keeper not sure about O Meara was never my first choice but would give him a chance .whats the situation with Farrelly and Gilsenan have they both taken a year out . I do think with a change of tactics and some fast changes from sideline we can win this game , but there are a lot of ifs in that

Rory Dunne suffered a very serious injury in London last year. I don't know why anyone would be surprised that he has not resumed playing competitive games for Cavan .
If he is back for the Championship then I will be happy.

Slasher, the man is injured. End of story. He's with Cavan this year, he's in there, he's involved. But he isn't fit yet, the lad had a horrific injury to recover from, it's touch and go whether he'll make the league at all.

You could start by changing the manager and take it from there ;)

Shut down kielt and lynch and we have a shout. Lynn and I believe others still carrying knocks from Tyrone. Would like to see Johnson or Paul o Connor in from the start. Maybe get conroy in at some stage. On another point what's story with packie leddy and turloch mooney?

I thought M.Lyng was gone from the panel. To be honest sceptical I am not sure O'Connor and Johnson have a full match in them yet remember both have been recovering from injury

Agree with that - Terry is in for the year and we need to stop the negative crap. We hardly have the cash to go and find another do we????

I was up in omagh and have to say I was impressed with large parts of what we did. There was definitely more purpose to get the ball forward but it didn't stick and that can happen. If we keep that approach then we will score more goals as well as points. Harte was on about how many men we had behind the ball but they did the exact same. Everyone does it. Fast ball forward is the Answer as we all know but there a fine line between direct ball and hoofing it!!

Anyway, I think this will be a tough one for us but I am going to predict a draw! You heard it here first lads!!

Well a lot will be how both teams handle the conditions it's now 1544 and I still cannot line the pitch it's that wet. Conditions for tomorrow night is heavy going. Best of luck to the Cavan lads.

I think Cavan will need to target the games v Fermanagh,Laois and Armagh as I believe 2 from this 4 will go down... Derry are a very strong and robust team who are scores ng freely.. While a win would be wonderfull and welcome defeat will not be the end of the world.. As for the Tyrone game we were far too defencive and got what we deserved at the end which was nothing.. Why did a far from fit Keating spend so much of the game in the backline......mindboggling effort from the management team

we'll beat Derry lads they wont break us down they scoring average of about 20 points this season in every game they wont even get 15 points against us same thing will happen when we will play Meath. A weekend for the Ulster teams all Ulster teams to win and yes this means Fermanagh to beat Meath and Cavan will beat Derry.

Team to play Derry tonight -

Cavan (NFL Division 2 v Derry): Raymond Galligan; Padraig Faulkner, Killian Clarke, Killian Brady; Ciarán Brady, Conor Moynagh, Feargal Flanagan; Tomas Corr, Gearoid McKiernan; Martin Reilly, David Givney, Dara McVeety; Cian Mackey, Eugene Keating, Paul O'Connor.

A bit more height with Givney moved into the 40 and O' Connor at corner forward. Here's hoping.
We really do need to win this as a loss would mean that we have only 10 points to play in the rest of the campaign and we would need possibly 7 to stay up. Not much room for error there.
