Anyone know when these will be starting, I know they started early the last couple of years, has it gone back to the old way of starting after senior, intermediate and junior has started ?

The draw was last night not sure what happened, but here is email from weekend

Reserve Championship
The Draw for the 2015 Reserve Championship will take place at the July Meeting of the County Board on Monday, July 6th.
The Following Clubs will take part in the Competition:
Reserve 1A - Castlerahan, Kingscourt, Ramor Utd, Mullahoran, Lacken, Ballyhaise, Ballinagh, Cavan Gaels (To be ratified prior to draw)
Reserve 1B - Killygarry, Gowna, Denn, Cuchulainns, Arva, Killeshandra, Drumlane, Drumgoon, Crosserlough
Reserve 2 - Shercock, Killinkere, Laragh Utd, Bailieborough, Maghera, Ballymachugh, Drumalee
Reserve 3 - Knockbride, Kill, Templeport, Cornafean, Drung
The CCC is recommending the following changes to the 2015 Reserve Championship:
1. Format reverts back to 2014 where only players named on First 12/10 are ineligible to play in the Reserve Championship. This change is to allow for a start to the competition independent of the Senior/ Intermediate/ Junior Club Championships.
2. That Reserve Division 2 and 3 merge to make a 12 team Division, 4 groups of 3, with the top 2 in each group qualifying for the Quarter Finals.
A vote of the County Committee on these changes will take place at the County Board Meeting on Monday, July 6th.

The draw wasn't made last night, put back to next Monday.
The reserve championship will be independent of the Senior/Junior and Intermediate.

It was proposed and passed that only the first 12/10 of each team cannot compete in the reserve championship.
More than likely when the draw is made next Monday, reserve champ dates will be set and start before all first rounds are played in the senior.

Bit of a joke to be honest, the reserve could have been up and going by now if we knew they were going to revert back to last years format.

The championship structure is terrible, these reserve competitions have been totally forgotten about,, they old way they were run when they were played the following mid week after the seniors played was by far a better system,, it got everyone out to training with every player knowing they had a championship match coming up and young fellas knew they had a chance of making there way on to their senior side if they had a good performance for there B team.

Junior championship games fixed for this Wednesday evening disgrace. Can the county board not in someway consider players lads that have to travel or are based elsewhere having to make a trip down on a. Wednesday eve having prob been down for training the night before and then again on Friday. Plenty of weekends passed there where the junior games could have been played but instead they try and cram it in again and again.. It's time the gaa started actually considering the people that are its heartbeat. I know though that this will continue to happen some things just never change.

Im sure the players who are away and having to play on a Wednesday could be excused from training on the Tuesday or not bother to turn up, it is only Junior anyway.

Gaels playing senior players in Junior B is unfair.it should not be allowed.i heard they played 8 players that featured in last years county final.i think its wrong.Junior b is to give fringe players a proper chance.this is wrong and other clubs should not put up with it.

Gaelsutd what are ya on about sure talk to the county board so there is a first 12 there and after that ya can pick anyone outside that.. Sure from what i hear the gaels junior team has been giving lads a chance.. you will prob always have a few players involved that play on a clubs first team.. I agree with you that a second team should be used to give lads a chance but ya have to mix it up a bit aswell .. My own club do often struggle to field a reserve team during the league and lads often play 2 games that arent in the first 12.. Im not favouring the gaels here either as I said my own club often has to field senior players all to fulfill a fixture.. but mabye there should be more of a structure put in place that a reserve team could more so be used as a development squad..like what about the county junior panel also I think lads in clubs all across the board that are preforming with their clubs deserve a chance to represent cavan..

The reserve setup (league and championship) is a joke. Very frustrating for lads who do make the effort. Not playing the 1st team football in the championship before the reserve championship starts is a disgrace.
Anyway, after many years, i got sick of the setup in cavan and transferred out of the county. I admit i miss the home club but better setup in other counties..... a lot more respectful of the players.

Once again the reserve players in this county are treated like crap,my own club having had no games for the last 2 months have now been giving 4 days notice for an important reserve c'ship game.

It's a joke, we have been waiting on our semi final for the last 2 and a half months. There were gaps there between championship games were all 4 teams could have played and we could then have the final after the intermediate final. We are not treated fairly. and I'm not 100% sure on this but there was talk that the county board wanted 1000 euro per team to participate in the reserve championship? and yet they treat it like its worth nothing

Now the reserve league has turned into a complete farce,all 8 teams in div 1a have qualified for a 'quarter final' so basically ya could've given the opposition the points for every match and still be in quarter final.its embarrassing for whatever clown makes these decisions.as for reserve c'ship it's late Monday night and by the way ya have a c'ship quarter final on Thursday.we have two starters on holidays and guys all over the country in college.
