Not sure about Louth at the moment, but seeing as we have beaten most of the rest in recent times, I'd be confident of doing so again. The way we play at the moment, I wouldn't expect any of them to score a lot against us that's for sure.

On the wider issue of the ratings, I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that we have slipped so far down. But there's no prizes being handed out for these ratings and you'd hope that new thinking about our strategy is about to unfold!! Especially after watching Donegal add such an exciting offensive game to their defensive set up. No reason why we couldn't follow that model, we're half way there as it is.

About right I'd say, hard to believe we have regressed so much, we were 8th last year.

I'd say that's about right . Division 1 and 2 contain the "top" 16 teams but we had a bad championship so you could argue a few places up or down but that's neither here nor there .
I don't get how people can say we've regressed or that we've slipped so far down . We were in unanimous agreement that we were in the high twenties only a few years back so we're making progress .
Comparing us to Donegal is ridiculous . Talk about systems all you like . Personnel is what make systems work and we have no inside forwards near the calibre of Murphy , McFadden , and McBrearty .

8th last year was only because Cavan got a handy enough run bar Derry to the Quarter finals. And 18th isn't a true reflection either but rankings very little, if there isn't as many injuries and players away it won't be like that next year.

We had an awful C/ship in which we played NO football. Diabolical.
We got promotion, at last, in the league mainly playing the same rubbish but against poorer opposition. Next year we could be right back in Div 3 unless we prepare properly and play football.
The ranking is about right.

That's a bit of a "glass half empty" post in fairness Slasher . Division 3 is a dog eat dog league where anyone can beat anyone and it's "harder to get out of than stay in Division 2" . When we easily achieve promotion we're rubbish and the opposition is suddenly weaker and we're coming straight back down lol .
We had a poor championship but we were dealing with a lot of key injuries and missing personnel . We lost to two very good teams in Roscommon and Armagh and we beat a Div1/2 (however poor they were) team in championship football .
If you want awful or diabolical look back a couple of years where we easily folded in championship to Div4 opposition .
