Leinster Junior Championship

Play Wexford in the first this Thursday http://www.hoganstand.com/cavan/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=217046 Does anyone know the panel, would imagine it will be made up of a few of the u21s like Conor Moynagh, James Farrelly, a few Senior Panelists like Paul O Connor, Damien Barkey to name a few

Last years team was very young enough average age of 23 against Longford, maybe more experience needed this year.

Best of luck to Cavan this evening. Hopefully we get another run in this valuable competition in terms of player development. Many of the current senior team were on the winning Leinster Junior team of two years ago so it has a real purpose in bridging the gap between U21 and Senior. Very noticeable that other counties like Meath and Louth are now using this template.

Congrats lads. Another great win in what is the long term development of most of these young lads. Very interested to hear about Paul O'Connor who I always rated very highly. Could Terry be looking in that direction? Great to see other lads step up like Sean Gaffney, Enda Reilly, Turlogh Mooney, Conor Moynagh, Philip Tinnelly etc. Hopefully this will also be a fillip to the Senior team against Armagh. They will know that there is loads of lads bursting at the seams to get onto the Senior panel. Terrys long term plan to have a large panel is bearing fruit. Well done to everyone!!

Having a large panel is great but its no point having one if you dont use it.

Mooney was the best player on the park.never gave a ball away...did the simple things very well. O Connor played very well-kicked scores off both feet.moynagh did well too but got black carded near the end. Doyle did well at CHB. Farrelly did well and I would have him well above o Mara at the moment.one thing this team had was pace all over the pitch, having said that Wexford were poor and offered nothing up front

Sounds like Paul O'Connor had a stormer. Hope Terry takes note! Anyone know who we're playing next?

Play Louth next wednesday 11th. They beat Kildare by in the quaters. Barry Doyle is a good footballer and really should have featured under age.

A comprehensive win in Dundalk last night and it was good to see so many Cavan supporters there. The game was won in the fifteen minutes leading up to half time, after that they were never in bother.

Interested to see how Barry Doyle played after a previous comment. The fact that the U21 centre back and captain was moved to the wing to accommodate him in the middle indicates that the management rate him. He has the makings of a solid inter-county footballer.

The final against the near neighbours should be good fun. A pity they wouldn't play it in Granard!

Won't be London winning the All-Britain, their Junior team is a shambles. It will be one of Scotland or Warwickshire I think.
