Qualifier v Fermanagh

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The draw has presented a decent chance of progression to both counties here. Evenly matched I would have thought. It will be interesting to see what work has been done since the Donegal game and what lessons have been learned. No point in going on our travels around the country if we can't beat Fermanagh. I'm sure they will feel the same way about us.

good draw..both teams are at the same standard.. its a chance to see how far we have come since the tom carr years.. fermanagh are ordinary at best and if we cant beat them well then we simply arent good enough.im sure terry and the boys wont be too downbeat with the draw. i think if we can beat fermanagh and get some momentum going we could be in for a longer summer than we have become accustomed to in the last few years.terrys teams seem to have a winning mentality and that is what cavan football needs.2005 was are best year in the qualifiers. 7 years on and i think its about time we got another run going 2 get cavan people smiling and get the championship feeling once again.

Seeing how Donegal disposed of Derry I think some might have been overly critical of Cavan in the first match and not given Donegal enough credit. Be interesting to see how they get on against Tyrone but they look like going a long way again this year. The gap between the top teams and the rest seems to have widened this year.

As long as their confidence has rebounded after that defeat I think we should win this one.

I'm going for a 3 point win for our boys.

Bozo - Sure some here told us Donegal were there for the taking - some with an anti Terry Hyland agenda that is. Donegal will make all ireland quarter and maybe semi finals this year. We can win this game if we play as well as we can.

A great draw for Cavan and a great chance for the players to win a C/ship game. We couldn't have asked for a better draw. Both sides have something to prove !!

You have to remember that murphy wasnt playing against cavan so he would have been a huge addition against derry. This will be very tight but realistically both teams will be seeing this as very winnable with the loser having no excuses for going out. Cavan have the better forwards so should come out on top.

I'm expecting a Cavan win based on the fact that we have been in a higher division to Fermanagh over the last couple of years and based on our U-21 success We also have a venue we are familiar with and the new management of have had sufficient time to regroup and put a playing strategy in place. Hyland sounds fairly optimistic in his interview and seems happy with the draw and the venue. It's nice to look foward to a match for a change!

we haven't played kildare in a while so dunno what johnston is like. He plays for an intermediate club in kildare so their forum would prob be the place to ask.

thanks for the opinions lads , i think it is a disgrace that a player would not put on his county jersey , something years ago was an honour and were worn with pride , but thats the past now and i have enough of living in the past , so bring on kildare and sj on the 1st !

also lads good luck in the future and im sure that this new crop of players for cavan will wear the jersey with pride , hopefully !
