Club Senior League

Hope the recent wet conditions won't hinder a lot of the club pitches with the start of Senior league, some fantastic games ahead.Shame all the div 1 at same time , I'd like to go to a few. However Kingscourt v Lavey will be the one I get to.

I seen in the celt where clubs can switch their home games this weekend if pitch not playable, and play home game next time around. This would be good if clubs agree.

Makes sense otherwise league will take an age to finish.Although a lot of minor games were postponed last week due to unplayeable pitches. An idea would be to play some of the games on the 3g

If games cant be played due to pitches unplayable there should be slots made available to play these games on the 3g an keep things moving forward!!

Out from county training I am sure that the county board would entertain any teams if they wanted to play their matches on the 3G. The weather is showing no signs of changing. Main pitch is just like a bog its that soft so I expect many club grounds are the same. No reason why Saturday and Sunday several matches could be played.

A lot of clubs won't play on 3G. It's ok for minor down but senior players are picking up too many injurys on it. Are all the senior games going ahead tommorow .Hopefully they will.Who will win these games.Think the Gaels will beat us ,no Ronan Flanagan,Kingscourt will beat Lavey,Ramor will beat Denn,Lacken may shade it against Mullahoran ,Ballinagh will beat Cuchulainns, that's my view on things.

A lot of close encounters in 1A. Looks as if Mullahorn will walk over lacken since their missing crowe brothers, reilly and mckiernan. Can't choose between other fixtures

How pathetic is this statement ?

Senior clubs are falling over themselves to use the 3G so that stupid argument goes put the door.

Okay for Mr Hyland with his U21 players for the last three years and it did them no harm.
Played all they're hasting cup matches on it so what makes U21 players different from the seniors.
Did all they're training on it did them no harm. Monaghan Fermanagh Longford Leitrim and many others are very happy to use the facilities,
Funny G McKiernan injures himself on the main pitch right in front of the stand what did you blame then I wonder. E Keating injures himself on natural surface what do you blame BUT once a spurious injury happens on the 3G it gets blamed for everything. When county players go back to their clubs to play matches the management are waiting to find out who has got an injury? Now why should they be worrying sure they are playing on a natural surface they cannot get injured. Wake up and remove the cobwebs so you can see the true picture.
Don't be naive and blinkered into being brainwashed that the 3G is responsible for their injuries it can happen on any surface. It's ok for children how flipping crazy is this statement.

Castlerahan beat gaels by point. Mackey was the difference. Ramor beat denn while cuchullains got hammered by ballinagh. Kingscourt beat lavey.

As regards the Hastings cup games did Cavan not play Offaly on the main pitch in Breffini park. This was their only game at home and would not play on 3G because they were picking up far too many injurys on it. Did you not see that game Sean?.Any way back to the league ,Great win for a Castlerahan team short on bodies. ,Mackey to the fore again. Ballinagh had a massive win. How come Lacken are short all the players listed above. Kingscourt got off to a good start against Lavey, heard they should have had a player straight red card in first half but the ref changed it before he showed it.Ramor had a good win.

You are totally wrong the reason for playing on the main pitch was because like the previous years they were involved in the Leinster league and would have been playing on natural surfaces but this did not happen this year and as their Ulster match is on in Breffni Park they asked not demanded could they play on it and had sod all to do with the 3G and injuries if you were told otherwise I can assure you the carrier is telling fibs to make him or herself look good. Also if you read my post I said Mr Hyland was happy to use it he is no longer in charge of the U21 team or did you not know that. PATHETIC excuses makes me sick.

Who played in the Leinster League in previous years Sean? Cavan and Offaly have been playing in the Hastings Cup for a number of years.

I know we play in the hasting cup did we not win the Leinster cup recently or am I dreaming. This is about the 3G and many are very happy to use it when their own facilities are in a bad way and rightly so. I rest my case.

Yeah, Cavan Juniors beat Kildare to win the Leinster Junior Championship last summer, 3rd Leinster Junior Championship in a row. That has nothing to do with the 3g pitch in Breffni, all of Cavan's Leinster Junior Championship games are played in Leinster, as Cavan can't have home games being based in Ulster.

So the poster does have a point about the 3g pitch.
